A long weekend off work yipeee! We booked a cabin in Whangarei's top ten holiday park and set off on Friday morning, we drove up the scenic coast stopping off at beaches/lookout points on the way. We had a pretty chilled out Friday night as everywhere is closed in NZ at easter so just had a few beers and bbq within the holiday park.
On Saturday morning we drove to Pahia which is the gateway to the Bay of Islands. We took a 3 hour sail on a big dolphin cruiser from the harbour, round the islands and through the worlds biggest sea cave!! The water was so clear and it was amazing just sitting on deck sunbathing and taking in all the scenery. A group of dolphins swam along side our boat and were sommersaulting through the waves it was an amazing sight! Pahia itself is a really nice harbourside town with long sandy beaches and cool restaurants and shops. We visited a waterfall and then headed out for some food. G x

Who me? Jealous? Naaa! I'd much rather be in Scotland for Easter with hail and sleet and being full of the cold ;-D
Dolphins are the best, we did a boat cruise in Gibralter once and they were sooo cool.
Big dolphins on tv the other night in the Moray Firth chasing catching & playing with salmon.
Saw them up close too.
