After a big sunday breakie at our favourite Rotorua cafe 'The Fat Dog' we visited the buried village of Te Wairoa. Said to be New Zealands most significant natural disaster a HUGE volcanic eruption took place in the 1800's burying three town communities and remains still stand of some parts of the village. There was a museum filled with artefacts they are still uncovering from excavations of the land.
We then headed to the Rotorua Luge where we took a gondola sky-ride to the top of a mountain, you then get in a small cart which u start and stop with a simple lever and go whizzing through the scenic forest track back down the mountain. It was SO much fun and we did three different routes through the Redwood forest.
