Wanaka

After a full day of nonstop rain while we travelled from Franz Josef to Wanaka via Haast Pass. We were glad the sun was shining today :) We arrived in Wanaka where Jamie had spent 3 months learning to become a Ski Instructor, we had some lunch along the front of the town and had a look round the identical tourist shops lol. We went to Puzzleworld where Jamie had suffered a day there hungover and realised how bad he must have felt looking at all the optical illusions, weird 3D pictures and the huge outside maze! We split up and the aim was to find the four towers in the maze then find the exit. Gail was so pleased to find the 1st tower before david and stood laughing at david below. We both had to bail out after a good couple of hours as although we found the towers we couldn't get out..arg!! It was a good laugh but pretty frustrating after a while in the afternoon sun. We had dinner and a few drinks then headed to the notorius Wanaka cinema. Inside the cinema room every seat is different there are battered old sofas and armchairs, aircraft seats, recliners and even an old morris minor. It was defo a unique cinema experience as they even had a half time where they served choc chip cookies straight out the oven...yummy :) David enjoyed a few Wanaka home brew beers - Brewski.
