Another gorgeous sunny day and we headed to the Coromandel region to Karangahake Gorge, a picturesque area popular for day walks following the river through the forest edge.
We took a couple of hours walk past old gold mining relics, following the river and through an old railway tunnel which was pretty eerie and seemed to go on forever! We finished our walk with a swim in the freshwater river, was so refreshing and clean...thankfully no eels either.
