Happy New Year! After a long lie in which was well needed after the late night, we spoke to all our family on skype. It was funny as we had already had our celebrations the night before and back home they had just brought in the bells!
We watched the lorikeets feeding on the balcony where they arrive every day to treat themselves on the homemade nectar Susan leaves out for them. It was very hot and humid again (34Degrees) which was not ideal for Davids Hogmany induced hangover ha ha - We piled into David's jeep and headed for Brooklyn to the north of Sydney. It is a small fishing village with lots of small islands nearby only accessible by boat and huge waterfront mansions inland. The landscape is very dry and arid looking outside of the city its no wonder that frequently massive fires break out. We had a HUGE lunch at the waterside which sorted us all out and a peaceful stroll along the front where we saw a flock of pelicans flying overhead. We then took a scenic drive back to the city and went for a wander round the well known Paddy's Market. After a new pair of Paddy shades for D and a ride on the monorail - which we've decided every city should have because they are so cool - we took refuge from the afternoon heat in the cinema for the new film Marley and Me..........Gail was crying like a baby at the end!!!!
