Butterfly Creek

Been meaning to take a trip out here for a while and today David took a half day at work so we could go check out the new Crocs exhibit! It was an awesome sunny day and we arrived just as the keepers were feeding the two huge crocodiles...in seperate pits obviously. As it is still winter to the animals they lie in the bottom of their pools and barely move, they are eerily still until they are alerted by sticks with meat hung onto the end. It is then a very unpredictable wait to watch them finally snatch the food, the keepers looked understandably nervous! One of the crocs who came from an Australian wildlife park had munched through an iron fence to get through to a neighbouring croc, killed it and then returned to its enclosure...eeeeekkk!

We met a baby alligator and got to pat it, it felt really strange, solid and bumpy on top and like a defrosted chicken underneath hee hee.

We spent the rest of the day there checking out the butterfly house, bugs room (eww) and playing with 3 week old bunnys and newborn lambs in the farmyard. Oh and i also got sneezed on in the face by an alpaca....but hey thats another story ;)
