Taronga Zoo

Today with Susan we headed to Taronga Zoo on the north side of the bridge in a part of the city called Mosman. It was a very hot morning and when we arrived the queue was miles long. It was packed. It was a beautiful zoo to walk around with amazing views over Sydney. We saw lots of animals we had never seen before including ever sleeping Koalas, a HUGE Komodo Dragon, a Kodiak Bear which is the tallest bear in the world, little Sun Bears, a Wombat, Pelicans and many species of lizards and snakes including massive boa constrictors and pythons - not D's favourite! There was a huge chimpanzee enclosure and they were very active, frequently going mental fighting, screaming at each other and marking their territories - reminded us of 3am on sauchiehall street! Gorillas, lions, tigers .... and elephants getting a bit too frisky with each other were highlights. We took the ferry back which dropped us at Circular Key in the city centre sailing right past the opera house with spectacular views of the harbour bridge.
